Health & Safety Intelligence Platform

Complly Risk writes the documents. Complly Ready proves you are ready to win the work. Complly Construct holds the intelligence — with FRA and Inspection pouring in, so the documents, the fire risks and what is actually happening on site all sit in one record.

Don’t ask a generic assistant. Ask Rodney.

Built for UK construction health & safety. Rodney checks its own work, flags problems, and will not let a document go out until a competent person has signed it off.

Watch it work — half a minute, no sign-in

Five products. One platform. One assistant.

Complly Construct holds the project. Risk, FRA and Inspection each feed it, and Complly Ready links Risk to Construct — so the documents, the fire risks and what is actually happening on site all sit in one record, and Rodney reads all of it.

RAMS & COSHH

Complly Risk What is a RAMS?

A RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statement) is the document UK construction uses to show a job has been thought through: the risk assessment identifies the hazards and how they are controlled, and the method statement sets out the safe sequence of work. Principal contractors routinely require an approved RAMS before anyone starts on site. Complly Risk drafts one from a plain-English job description, scores each risk red/amber/green, and routes it to a competent person for sign-off.

Complly Risk Is a RAMS a legal requirement in the UK?

Not by that name. The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 require every employer to carry out a suitable and sufficient risk assessment, and to record the significant findings if they employ five or more people; the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 requires a safe system of work. A RAMS is how construction demonstrates both in a single document. In practice it is also a commercial requirement: no approved RAMS, no access to site.

Complly Risk What is a toolbox talk?

A toolbox talk is a short briefing given on site before or during a job, covering the specific hazards of that task and the controls everyone is expected to follow, with a record of who attended. Complly Risk writes one straight from the RAMS it has already drafted, so the talk covers the hazards that document actually identified rather than a generic list.

COSHH What is a COSHH assessment?

A COSHH assessment is a written assessment of the substances hazardous to health that a job involves — what they are, how people could be exposed, the harm that could result, and the controls that prevent it. It is required by the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002. With Complly Risk you can produce one alongside a RAMS or start one by photographing a substance label.

COSHH Does COSHH cover construction dust and silica?

Yes, and it is one of the most commonly missed. Respirable crystalline silica from cutting or drilling concrete, stone and brick, along with wood dust and general construction dust, are substances hazardous to health under COSHH. They need assessing and controlling like any chemical product. Complly Risk carries them in its substance library so they are not left out of the assessment.

COSHH What is the difference between a COSHH assessment and a safety data sheet?

A safety data sheet is supplied by the manufacturer and describes the product in general. A COSHH assessment is yours, and describes how that substance is used on your job — the quantity, the method, the ventilation, who is exposed and for how long, and the controls you will apply. A safety data sheet is an input to the assessment, not a substitute for it.

COSHH When should a COSHH assessment be reviewed?

Whenever it may no longer be valid — if the substance, the quantity, the method of work or the working environment changes, if monitoring or health surveillance suggests controls are not working, or after an incident. Many contractors also review annually as a matter of routine.
